We are pleased to announce that Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition (HBSN) has obtained its latest impact factor for the 2024 citation year: 7.8 (Figure 1).

The impact factor, as published in the annual Journal Citation Reports (JCR), is a calculation determined based on the number of citations accumulated in 2024 for articles published in 2022 and 2023.
According to the 2025 Journal Citation Reports (JCR), HBSN is included into three categories in SCIE edition. In the category of Surgery, the journal is ranked 7th out of 312 journals (Q1); in Nutrition & Dietetics, it is ranked 7th out of 112 (Q1); and in Gastroenterology & Hepatology, it holds the 13th position out of 147 journals (Q1).
Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition is an international, open access, peer-reviewed journal indexed in PubMed and Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE). The main focus of the journal is to describe new findings in hepatopancreatobiliary disease and nutrition, and to provide current and practical information on diagnosis, prevention and clinical investigations. Specific areas of interest include, but not limited to, surgical techniques, clinical and basic researches, transplantation and other therapies, NASH, NAFLD, targeted drug, gut microbiota, metabolism, cancer immunity, genomics, nutrition and dietetics, etc.
The announcement of the journal’s latest impact factor is a significant achievement for the journal, allowing us to further develop the journal into a high-impact respected source of information with international reach.
