The PLACES study evaluates combining portal vein ligation (PVL) with Apatinib and Camrelizumab for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with insufficient future liver remnant (FLR). Results show 63.3% 1-year event-free survival, improved outcomes compared to historical ALPPS, and manageable safety profiles.

This study demonstrated that waist circumference and waist-to-height ratio were stronger predictors of T2DM than BMI among rural adults of eastern China. Additionally, long-term changes in these obesity indices significantly elevate T2DM risk, which varied over sex and age.
