Impact of body mass index on hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence after liver transplantation through long-term follow-up
Nada El-Domiaty, Faouzi Saliba, Vincent Karam, Rodolphe Sobesky, Wafaa Ibrahim, Eric Vibert, Gabriella Pittau, Khaled Amer, Maysaa A. Saeed, Jihan A. Shawky, Daniel Cherqui, René Adam, Didier Samuel
1- Obesity should not be considered when selecting patients with HCC to LT as a predictive factor of HCC recurrence.
2- Recipient’s BMI at time of transplant had no direct impact on the incidence of HCC recurrence after LT, through long-term follow up, and regardless the status of the patients and their tumor characteristic at time of transplant.
Accuracy of non-invasive liver stiffness measurement and steatosis quantification in patients with severe and morbid obesity
Magdalena Eilenberg, Petra Munda, Judith Stift, Felix B. Langer, Gerhard Prager, Michael Trauner, Katharina Staufer
Diagnostic accuracy for VCTE, CAP™ and FAST score to diagnose significant and advanced fibrosis, significant and severe steatosis and NASH is only acceptable in patients with BMI≥35 kg/m² but improved in the cohort of patients below the median BMI of 44.4 kg/m2.
Stereotactic body radiation therapy versus radiofrequency ablation in patients with small hepatocellular carcinoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Jiawei Hong, Linping Cao, Haiyang Xie, Yuanxing Liu, Jun Yu, Shusen Zheng
The meta-analysis demonstrated that SBRT provided a better effect on control of local tumor recurrence than RFA while RFA have a better survival rate than SBRT. Meanwhile, uniform standard of SBRT radiological dose and complications should be establish for further systematic review.
Transarterial infusion chemotherapy with FOLFOX for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma: a multi-center propensity score matched analysis of real-world practice
Shaohua Li, Jie Mei, Qiaoxuan Wang, Feng Shi, Hongyan Liu, Ming Zhao, Lianghe Lu, Yihong Ling, Zhixing Guo, Yabing Guo, Xiaoming Chen, Ming Shi, Wan Yee Lau, Wei Wei, Rongping Guo
Transarterial infusion chemotherapy with FOLFOX regimen is effective and safe in treatment of BCLC stage C hepatocellular carcinoma. Compared with transarterial chemoembolization and sorafenib, it could improve the patient survival and bring similar rates of adverse events.
Liver resection versus intensity-modulated radiation therapy for treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma with hepatic vein tumor thrombus: a propensity score matching analysis
Zhen-Hua Chen, Xiu-Ping Zhang, Shuang Feng, Jing-Kai Feng, Zong-Tao Chai, Wei-Xing Guo, Jie Shi, Wan Yee Lau, Yan Meng, Shu-Qun Cheng
Surgery resulted in better survival in HCC patients with hepatic vein tumor thrombus compared to IMRT.

Clinical practice of transarterial chemoembolization for hepatocellular carcinoma: consensus statement from an international expert panel of International Society of Multidisciplinary Interventional Oncology (ISMIO)
Jian Lu, Ming Zhao, Yasuaki Arai, Bin-Yan Zhong, Hai-Dong Zhu, Xiao-Long Qi, Thierry de Baere, Uei Pua, Hyun Ki Yoon, David C. Madoff, Gao-Jun Teng; International Society of Multidisciplinary Interventional Oncology (ISMIO)
This consensus aims to establish a guideline worldwide to standardized the clinical practice of TACE for hepatocellular carcinoma: The consensus statements were organized into the following categories: patients’ selection, performing the procedure, TACE outcomes, repeat TACE, TACE failure/refractory, and TACE–based combination treatments.
