A machine learning model for colorectal liver metastasis post-hepatectomy prognostications
This new machine learning algorithm developed through a retrospective analysis of 572 patients from Hong Kong, predicts mortality and recurrence post-resection of colorectal cancer liver metastases. This prognostic algorithm incorporates 8 variables with clinical relevance outperforms traditional scores and provides prognostic predictions for local patients.
Cholecystectomy increases the risk of metabolic syndrome in the Korean population: a longitudinal cohort study
The Korean National Health Insurance Service Database demonstrated that cholecystectomy is an independent risk factor for metabolic syndrome in the general population. Individuals who underwent cholecystectomy exhibited an approximately 21% higher risk of incident metabolic syndrome than those who did not undergo cholecystectomy.
