Liver venous deprivation versus portal vein embolization before major hepatectomy: future liver remnant volumetric and functional changes
Based on serial measurements, liver venous deprivation (embolization of both portal and hepatic vein(s)) gives greater volume and functional gain of the future liver remnant, as compared to portal vein embolization.
Limited potential of resolvin D1 in treatment of cholestatic liver fibrosis
Dietary supplementation of health-promoting n-3 PUFAs and their mediators may be promising therapeutic agents for chronic liver disease. However, the anti-inflammatory and ant-fibrotic potential of the DHA mediator resolvin D1 is limited in mice with cholestatic liver disease, as disease progression could not be prevented.

Fluorescence-guided surgery for hepatobiliary procedures is a relatively new and developing field. The approaches to use of fluorophores for clinical intra-operative image-guidance during HPB surgery is reviewed.
